FOSS Lviv 2015

5th Research and Practice Conference “FOSS Lviv-2015” will take place at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv on April, 23 – 26

The conference is targeted at following directions:

  1. Free/Open software in education;
  2. Free/Open software in science;
  3. Free/Open software for business;
  4. Free/Open software at home.

The working languages of Conference are Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian, Polish and English.

Developers, users, IT-managers and everybody interested in using free/open source software are invited to take part.

Tasks of FOSS Lviv-2015 are to provide effective communication and information exchange, to discuss the development perspectives of free / open source software in business, science and education, to initiate new projects of FOSS usage. Presentations and discussions are devoted to practical aspects of the development and application of software, as well as on decrease of the information system licensing costs.

The participation in the Conference is free of charge. It is necessary to register before April 10, 2015 to take part (please visit http://conference.linux.lviv.ua for more details).

Abstracts are to be submitted before April 10, 2015 to be published in the printed book of the conference materials; abstracts submitted after thise date but before April 23, 2015 will be included only into the pdf file of the conference materials.

For participants who will not be able to come to the city for a conference , the Internet section of the conference is going to be organized by means of BigBlueButton (http://bigbluebutton.org) technology. Specifications for the client setup are here.

The test area to check the hardware and software of Internet-section will be set up on 9 and 10 of April, 2015.
