Code of conduct

The organisers of Linux Vacation / Easter Europe are committed to a safe and friendly environment for all participants, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion. All attendees are expected to treat all people with respect and help create a welcoming environment. All participants at LVEE must follow the following code of conduct.

If you notice behaviour that fails to meet this standard, please speak up and help to keep LVEE as respectful as we expect it to be. If you are harassed and requests to stop are not successful, or notice a disrespectful environment, the organisers want to help.

You can contact the organisers at info@lvee.org, or if you prefer, you can talk directly to them in person.

We will treat your request with dignity and confidentiality, investigate, and take whatever actions appropriate. If our intervention is not successful, the organisers reserve the right to to take action against those who do not cease unacceptable behaviour, including removal of the offender from the conference.

What is harassment

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion.
  • Sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides).
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
  • Harassing photography or recording.
  • Sustained disruption of talks, workshops or other events.
  • Inappropriate physical contact.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour.
