Ruby Open Air unconference

June 16, 2012, Altoros will assist in holding the first Ruby Open Air in Belarus, an unconference, featuring Ruby and Ruby on Rails developers from Belarus, CIS, and Western Europe.

June 16, 2012, Altoros will assist in holding the first Ruby Open Air in Belarus, an unconference, featuring Ruby and Ruby on Rails developers from Belarus, CIS, and Western Europe. Lee Hambley (a maintainer of Capistrano, Germany), Denis Gorin (netzke.org, Netherlands), Vladislav Gorodetsky (a polyglot programming evangelist at RubyShift, Ukraine) are invited as headliners. Ruby Open Air will be a place where everybody will be able to discuss the latest trends and innovations in Ruby and RoR, exchange the most up-to-date solutions, raise the topical issues, and share experience. Various kinds of knowledge transfer activities, such as technical sessions, Lightning Talks, unpanel discussions, and networking will help to master new information more efficiently.

Ruby Open Air will take place at the country club “Terraski”. The participants will enjoy an eventful day that will include the unconference itself, Beer & BBQ Party, sauna, Open Space band show, and extreme entertainment activities for the true-born Rubysts.

The agenda:
10:45 – The participants meet at Kamennaya Gorka metro station. The bus will wait there to take them to the country club.
12.00 – Welcome Speech
12.15 – 13.15 Panel Sessions (Lee Hambley, Denis Gorin, Vladislav Gorodetsky)
13.15 – 14.45 Lightning Talks*
14.45 – 15.30 Lunch
15.30 – 17.00 Unpanel discussions
17.00 – 17.30 Wrap-up
17.30 – 21.00 BBQ Party, Beers, and easy-going talks. During this time, sauna is open for everyone.
21.00 – 23.00 The bus takes the attendees back to Minsk to Kamennaya Gorka metro station.

There’s a possibility to keep on relaxing at the country club and to book the rooms for June 17th with a discount.
The participation fee is 200.000 BRB. The fee includes travelling to/back from the place, meals, and entertainment activities. The number of paid and free tickets is limited by 100 participants.

To take part in Ruby Open Air, you should make two actions:
1. Register for the event on belarusrubyonrails.org
2. Buy tickets on kvitki.by (you’ll get a direct link when the registration is completed) or receive a confirmation from the organizers approving your free participation as a speaker.
