Abstracts Guidelines

Common guidelines

To participate as a conference speaker one should upload abstracts of his/her presentation in the abstracts creation interface on the personal profile web page not later than August 6.

Abstracts should be written in English, Belarusian, or Russian language.

A size of abstracts may vary from one to three pages of A5 format (approximately up to 6000 characters without spaces).

Figures, if any, are presented in separate files. List of references (if there is any) should be placed at the end of abstracts. For electronic sources the name of a web-resource (or a separate publication in it) should be mentioned as well as URL of the page.

Uploading abstracts for reviewing

Abstracts are subject to multi-author reviewing.

To upload abstracts for review one should subscribe to the conference in the personal profile (e.g. by clicking corresponded item in the “Participants” sub-menu); subscribing to the conference is done by clicking button with its name. As the result, “Abstracts” button should appear in personal profile, linked to the Abstracts editing page. Being on this page one should click a link of “Create new abstracts”:

A new form of abstracts creation will appear:

There is an explanations near each field, with useful recommendations.

Abstracts editing page allows to make changes in your abstracts in the form used previously for creation. Beside that, it allows to upload additional files (i.e. figures) or to invite co-author (choosing from participants list) for collaborative editing.

Please note, that last two functions are inaccessible before abstracts fully created, and thus can be invoked only at editing.

When abstracts are reviewed, reviewers make their comments appearing below the abstracts text:

To view comments author should click “Abstracts” button in a personal profile, and follow the “Show” link. If author has several abstracts submitted to a conference, then “Show” link opposite the needed title should be chosen.

Markup specifics

To apply styles to the text of abstracts one can use textile markup. It is mostly used to emphasis titles of different levels, as far as lists, citation references, tables and figures. Ling on the abstracts editing web page leads to the short interactive reference for textile.

Mathematics formulas can be typed in LaTeX. Currently standalone formulas are supported:

$$ y=x^2 $$

Support for inline formulas, marked up like $y=x^2$ (), is experimental.
